Lily Frautschi in Beijing, China serving as summer intern with Beijing Children's Legal Aid and Research Center

December 21

My Summer Internship with Beijing Children’s Legal Aid and Research Center

Presented by: Lily Frautschi, St. Philip Member

The Ford Foundation grant to the Beijing Children’s Legal Aid and Research Center states the purpose of the center “To protect the rights of children and juveniles through policy research, legal aid services, and the training of a nationwide network of public interest lawyers.”

St. Philipian Lily Frautschi will tell the story of her summer internship as a William and Mary Law student by serving at the Beijing Children’s Legal Aid and Research Center. Lily participated in the center’s work to conduct empirical research to facilitate justice for children and migrants, in addition to working more generally in the area of public interest law. Lily will also talk about her experiences, this past summer, in the Family Court division of the New York City Law Department.

Adult Bible Study | Room 204

Bible study is an ongoing and thorough investigation of the multi-dimensional Word of God.  In this class, we also consider the insights of other translations and scholars to deepen  our understanding of God’s continuing message of faithfulness to God’s people.

PrimeTimers

The PrimeTimers are a group of senior St. Philip members and friends who plan and participate in fellowship, mission, and educational events. Our group visits museums, attends dramatic and musical performances, and travels to interesting and historic sites in the state.

Monthly Book Club

A monthly interest group for women who like to read books, socialize, and have a night out. We meet every 2nd Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at a member’s home. This self-led, interactive group produces lively discussions and wonderful fellowship.
