    Worship
Worship at St. Philip seeks to embody the vision set forth in the Directory for Worship in the Presbyterian Church (USA):

Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship the people of God acknowledge God present in the world and in their lives. As they respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, believers are transformed and renewed. In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service
in the world.

Our community gathers for worship in the sanctuary each Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00. Both services follow the classic order
for worship in which we offer our praises and confessions, remember God’s forgiveness and love, respond with thanksgiving and hope.
Then we are sent into God’s world with renewed commitments to follow in the way of Jesus Christ.

Additional midweek services enrich the seasons of Advent and Lent.

    Service of Healing & Wholeness

Held in the Sanctuary on the 4th Sunday of each month | 5:00 p.m.

In this service, we claim God’s promise of well-being and seek God’s healing touch in body, mind, and spirit. The service includes individual prayers with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil, along with scripture readings and hymns. Those seeking healing in their own lives or in the lives of others are encouraged to attend, as well as those who feel called to pray with those who suffer. In gathering for this service, we acknowledges that all healing is from God; and we affirm that in the midst of bodily illness, pain, and suffering our relationship with God in Christ sustains us.

    Music
Music shapes our worship. Soloists and small ensembles
frequently lead the 8:30 service, while The St. Philip Choir
sings weekly at 11:00.
Our bell choir, children’s choir, and youth choir also participate regularly. At both services the majestic Fritts organ lifts our hearts
and accompanies our songs.

    Children

When Children participate in and lead worship they feel they are a special and beloved part of their faith community and they begin to develop their own sense of what it means to be a child of God.

Opportunities abound for children and youth to take active roles in the life of worship at St. Philip as acolytes, liturgists and choir members. Please ask a pastor about these opportunities!

Sunday Worship and Children’s Chapel
All children are invited to sit with their families during 8:30a.m. and 11a.m. worship. During the worship hour, there is a time just for children with the pastors. Worship bags as well as Children’s Bulletins are available in the Narthex for children who wish to remain in church.

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays, children, ages 4-1st Grade, are invited to a
special time of worship in the Children's Chapel during the 11 a.m. service.

Infants and children through three years of age are invited to play in the Nursery at any time during both services!
